I’m writing a comprehensive UnlockGo review by testing its key features. You’ll see its main features, drawbacks, and tips for using UnlockGo more effectively.

I’m an editor who loves testing iPhone software. Recently, I came across a versatile unlock toolkit for both iPhones and Android devices. I spent the whole day testing iToolab UnlockGo’s unlocking features for iOS devices, and here’s what I found.

This post is based on my firsthand experience with its key features. I hope it provides you with an authentic perspective based on my testing.

I Tested UnlockGo, and Here Is What I Found

UnlockGo vs. Other Unlockers: The FMI Edge

Looking through UnlockGo’s unlocking features, the most notable one is its ability to turn off the FMI (Find My iPhone) feature without the Apple ID password. This is a core advantage over other iOS unlockers, since most of them require users to disable FMI before using the software. I’ll explain how to use this feature later in the article.

With UnlockGo, it becomes much easier to unlock a second-hand device. Whether I needed to remove the previous owner’s Apple ID or bypass the iCloud Activation Lock, the software guided me to disable FMI without the Apple ID password or jailbreak the device to temporarily bypass the FMI feature.

How I Tested UnlockGo with My Old iPhone

To evaluate UnlockGo, I tested its five core unlocking features on my old iPhone: unlocking the screen passcode, removing the Apple ID, bypassing the iCloud Activation Lock, turning off Find My iPhone, and deleting the Screen Time passcode. Below, I’ll walk you through each test in order.

Unlock Screen Passcode

To test UnlockGo’s ability to unlock screen passcodes, I grabbed my iPhone 6 Plus and set up a 4-digit passcode on my test device.

After connecting the device to my computer and launching the software, I chose the “Unlock Screen Passcode” option.

The process was straightforward. When my device was detected, I clicked to download the latest firmware package.

Download Firmware to Unlock Screen Passcode

Once the firmware finished downloading, I clicked the “Unlock” button to initiate the unlocking process.

The progress bar showed that it would take about 10 minutes. Then the passcode was successfully removed.

Remove Apple ID

Next, I used this iPhone 6 Plus to test how it could remove my Apple ID without a password.

Navigating back to the main interface, I selected the “Remove Apple ID” function.

Then the software asked me to download the firmware for my device. Once it finished downloading, I clicked the “Unlock Now” button to get started.

In a few minutes, my Apple ID was removed. The device restarted, and I followed the on-screen instructions to set it up again.

Apple ID Removed

The whole process was straightforward, but I also noticed that it erased all the data on my iPhone. This was a significant drawback.

It showed a high success rate in removing the Apple ID from an iPhone or iPad. However, some users reported that their devices were blocked for security reasons after using UnlockGo. Worse still, they had difficulty getting support to resolve the issue.

Unlock iCloud Activation Lock

When I attempted to set up my device after removing the Apple ID, I was stuck on the iCloud Activation Lock. It required me to enter the Apple ID and password associated with the device.

I knew Apple had designed this security measure against unauthorized use, but I didn’t remember the Apple ID or password. Therefore, I had to bypass the iCloud Activation Lock.

I chose the “Unlock iCloud Activation Lock” option on the main interface. After it detected my device model, I followed the steps to enter DFU mode.

Afterward, the jailbreaking process started immediately. Jailbreaking might put your device at risk, so evaluate carefully before proceeding.

Jailbreaking the Device

After about 10 minutes, I bypassed the iCloud Activation Lock successfully.

It’s worth noting that this feature does not cover all iPhone models and iOS versions. It supports iPhone 5s through iPhone X. You should also check for iPad compatibility. For example, a few users mentioned that the software didn’t support certain models, such as the iPad Mini 4. In addition, UnlockGo does not support iOS versions earlier than iOS 12.

Turn Off Find My iPhone

Then I tried to disable “Find My iPhone” with UnlockGo. I went to the main interface and chose “Turn off FMI”.

However, the bad news was that it didn’t support iOS 12. After checking compatibility, I found it only works with iOS 13.0 or later and supports iPhone 6s to iPhone 12 Pro Max, as well as some iPad models.

Alternatively, I tried another iPhone 8. Since this involved jailbreaking the device, I backed up my data in advance.

Jailbreaking the Device

I connected the iPhone to the computer and followed the on-screen steps to jailbreak it. Once FMI was disabled, I verified the status.

After a few minutes, I successfully disabled the FMI feature without a password.

Delete Screen Time Passcode

Lastly, I tested the “Remove Screen Time Passcode” feature. To ensure a successful removal, I checked compatibility first. It supports all iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches running iOS 10.0 or later. Meanwhile, it won’t cause any data loss.

I set a Screen Time passcode on my iPhone 6 and connected it to the computer. I chose the “Unlock Screen Time Passcode” mode and followed the instructions.

Remove Screen Time Passcode

It took about 5 minutes to remove the Screen Time passcode. When it finished, I saw the interface below.

What I Learned After Testing UnlockGo

After testing the main features of UnlockGo, I summarized some tips. If you want to try this iOS unlocker, check this list first:

  • Most features, such as unlocking the screen passcode, removing the Apple ID, unlocking the iCloud Activation Lock, and turning off Find My iPhone, may lead to data loss. Make a backup before using these features.
  • UnlockGo doesn’t support all iOS versions or device models, especially the latest iOS versions and Apple devices. Check compatibility before unlocking with UnlockGo.
  • For certain features, you might be required to jailbreak your device. Learn the risks before initiating the process.
  • You might have difficulty getting support from customer service. Some users said their problems weren’t resolved promptly or effectively. Save all evidence when you encounter technical issues.

Why I Chose BuhoUnlocker as an Alternative to UnlockGo

In the end, I chose BuhoUnlocker as an alternative to UnlockGo. It can also meet my common unlocking needs, such as unlocking the screen passcode, removing Apple ID, bypassing MDM profiles, and unlocking the Screen Time passcode. Also, I don’t have to worry about compatibility issues because it supports a wide range of iOS versions from iOS 8 to iOS 17 and works with various Apple devices, including the latest iPhone models.

In addition, I was impressed by the support staff of BuhoUnlocker. With 24/7 technical support, I can get immediate and helpful assistance whenever I encounter a technical issue.

Conclusion

In summary, UnlockGo can not only unlock common locks but also turn off Find My iPhone and bypass the iCloud Activation Lock without a password. However, you should check whether it supports your device, as it isn’t compatible with all iOS versions and Apple models. If you want to work with the latest iOS models, I recommend BuhoUnlocker.
