How to Hide iPhone Apps on macOS Tahoe [2 Ways]
"Is it possible to remove iPhone Apps from showing in new Apps menu in MacOS Tahoe? I keep seeing Apps with a small iPhone circle in the bottom right of an App. Most Apps are also doubled, since there is an iPhone and a Mac App."
- A Question from Apple Community
Do you have the same question as the user above? I do. It feels quite annoying when I try to browse my Mac apps, but a bunch of iPhone apps keep showing up as well.
This article will show you how to hide those unwanted iPhone apps from appearing in both the App menu and Spotlight search results.
How to Hide iPhone Apps on macOS Tahoe via the App Menu
- Open the App menu.
- Click the three-dot menu in the right corner of the App window.
- Deselect Show iPhone Apps.
How to Hide iPhone Apps on macOS Tahoe via the Spotlight Settings
If there's no "Show iPhone Apps" option, you can also use the Spotlight settings to disable iPhone apps from appearing in the App menu or Spotlight results.
- Click the Apple menu and choose System Settings.
- Go to Spotlight, then scroll down to Results from System.
- Turn off iPhone Apps.
- Check to make sure iPhone apps no longer appear in the App menu and Spotlight results.
Don't Like the New "Launchpad" on macOS Tahoe?
Am I the only one who dislikes the new "Launchpad" on macOS Tahoe? It’s no longer full-screen and completely changes how I used to organize and open apps. I honestly don’t understand why Apple replaced the old Launchpad with this new “App” interface.
I’m not planning to rely on Spotlight search, so I started looking for a Launchpad alternative instead.
Among the many options, I personally prefer BuhoLaunchpad. To be honest, it’s the best Launchpad alternative I’ve found so far. It brings back everything I liked about the old Launchpad: the full-screen view, smooth drag-and-drop, and intuitive app organization.
If you’d like to try it out, click the button below.
Final Thoughts
If you want to hide iPhone apps on macOS Tahoe, deselect Show iPhone Apps in the App menu or turn off iPhone Apps in Spotlight settings. If both of the above methods fail, restart the Dock or restart your Mac.
And if you’re not a fan of the new “Launchpad” experience, consider trying a replacement like BuhoLaunchpad. It gives you back the familiar, full-screen app launcher you used to love.
